Villa Vella - Canggu Bali
Villa Vella is a contemporary tropical sanctuary located in the heart of Canggu, Bali, where architecture becomes an extension of the natural landscape. Inspired by the fluidity of nature, the design embraces organic forms, handcrafted textures, and soft architectural curves that create an immersive living experience rooted in tranquility and timeless elegance.
Rather than relying on rigid geometries, the villa is composed of sculptural volumes that flow seamlessly from one space to another. Curved walls, generous arches, and textured plaster finishes establish a distinctive architectural identity while echoing the natural contours of the surrounding environment. Every element has been intentionally designed to blur the boundaries between indoor comfort and outdoor serenity.
Set alongside a natural river corridor, the masterplan responds sensitively to the existing landscape. Lush tropical vegetation, reflective water features, and carefully layered gardens become integral components of the architecture, allowing residents to experience a continuous dialogue between built form and nature. The result is a peaceful retreat where privacy, openness, and environmental harmony coexist effortlessly.
The arrival experience is defined by a sculptural entrance bridge that gracefully spans the water, creating a memorable transition into the villa. This architectural gesture symbolizes the journey from the outside world into a secluded sanctuary, immediately immersing visitors in an atmosphere of calm and exclusivity.
Inside each villa, open-plan living spaces maximize natural ventilation and daylight while maintaining uninterrupted visual connections to private courtyards and plunge pools. Warm earthy materials, integrated ambient lighting, bespoke furnishings, and handcrafted finishes create interiors that feel both luxurious and deeply connected to Bali's tropical character.
The architecture embraces passive design principles by optimizing airflow, natural shading, and landscape integration to enhance comfort while reducing dependence on mechanical cooling. Large arched openings frame views of the surrounding greenery, allowing every interior space to feel open, breathable, and immersed in nature throughout the day.
